NORMAN TONG

Having served as a volunteer pastor at VCAC for more than twenty years, Norman became the Senior Pastor in 2016. In his position he provides executive leadership and biblical vision to the church, while overseeing all VCAC staff. His past experience serving all three linguistic congregations of the church have prepared him to unite and lead our multi-cultural community.

Preaching, evangelism and youth ministry are a few of Pastor Norman’s ministry passions. He also passionately supports the church’s outreach to international students. In his youth, he served international students for over twenty years, leading many to Christ. Additionally, Norman and his wife Cynthia have worked extensively with the Mandarin-speaking community, launching the VCAC Mandarin congregation in 2006.

In his spare time, Pastor Norman reads broadly on topics ranging from science and economics to politics. He is especially delighted when meeting newcomers at church. In his free time, he enjoys travelling, hiking, drumming and relaxing at home.

Pastor Norman was born in Hong Kong and completed his secondary studies and Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Vancouver, BC. He had a fulfilling career as a professional engineer, while serving God in volunteer ministry and earning his Master of Theological Studies and Master of Divinity degrees from Regent College. Norman and Cynthia are the proud parents of two children, Grace and Christopher.
